Country Assessment of Living Conditions (CALC)
CALC stands for Country Assessment of Living Conditions. The CALC is a national study that will use quantitative and qualitative research to assess the current conditions affecting the welfare of people living in Barbados while identifying policies, strategies, action programmes and projects that would reduce the extent and severity of poverty in Barbados.

Constituency Councils 
Preparations for the final phase of the implementation of the Constituency Councils are in progress. In accordance with the First Schedule of the Constituency Councils Act 2009, the Constituency Councils will be established in zones. The Ministry of Social Care, Constituency Empowerment, Urban and Rural Development invited organisations and individuals to nominate representatives to be considered to serve on the Constituency Councils indicated below, which are in the Northern, Western and Central Zones.

Stress-free health fair 
THE CHRIST CHURCH SOUTH CONSTITUENCY COUNCIL took its community work to another level yesterday when it held a Health And Wellness Fair at Southern Plaza Complex, Oistins. Deputy chairman of the council Robert "Bobby" Morris, told the audience that there was no better time to host the event than now, since in these harsh economic times, it was essential to take care of one's health.

Councils ready for task at hand
